Prescription & Controlled Substance Policy

Restore Pain Center is committed to providing safe, responsible, and effective treatment for patients experiencing chronic pain.

At Restore Pain Center, our goal is to provide safe, responsible, and effective treatment for patients experiencing chronic pain. Certain pain conditions may require the use of prescription medications, including controlled substances. Because these medications carry potential risks, strict guidelines are necessary to ensure patient safety and proper medical care.

By receiving care at Restore Pain Center, patients agree to follow the policies outlined below.

01

Medication Management

Prescription medications, including controlled substances, may be prescribed when medically appropriate as part of an individualized pain management treatment plan. The provider will determine whether medication is appropriate based on medical history, physical evaluation, previous treatments, current symptoms, and clinical judgment. Medication decisions are made solely at the discretion of the provider.

02

One Prescribing Provider

Patients receiving controlled substances from Restore Pain Center must agree to receive those medications only from this clinic unless otherwise approved by the provider. Patients should not obtain pain medications from other physicians, emergency departments, or urgent care facilities without notifying Restore Pain Center.

03

Pharmacy Use

Patients must use one designated pharmacy for filling prescriptions unless otherwise approved. This helps ensure accurate monitoring of medications and protects patient safety.

04

Prescription Refills

Prescription refills are handled during scheduled appointments whenever possible. Please note: refills will not be provided early; lost or stolen medications will not be replaced; refills will not be provided after hours or on weekends. Patients should plan appointments accordingly to avoid interruptions in medication.

05

Medication Monitoring

Restore Pain Center may require monitoring to ensure medications are used safely and appropriately. This may include urine drug screening, prescription monitoring program review, and pill counts when necessary. These measures are standard practice in pain management and help ensure patient safety.

06

Medication Safety

Patients are responsible for keeping medications secure and using them exactly as prescribed. Medications should never be shared with others, altered from the prescribed dosage, or combined with substances that may cause harm. Misuse of medication may result in discontinuation of treatment.

07

Missed Appointments

Patients who miss scheduled appointments may experience delays in prescription refills or adjustments. Consistent follow-up appointments are important for safe and effective pain management.

08

Discontinuation of Medication

Restore Pain Center reserves the right to discontinue prescribing medications if medications are misused, clinic policies are violated, or treatment is no longer medically appropriate. Our priority is always patient safety and responsible medical care.
